58 CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION OF MARYLAND [Sept. 13]
of the Secretary of the Convention, a
change of home address, change of An-
napolis address, telephone number, any
other information will enable the delegates
to reach you when you are not right here.
I would greatly appreciate it if you would
each make it a point to do this, certainly
by the end of tomorrow; if we do not hear
from you, we will assume the information
that is already available is complete and
correct.
I want to announce also that there will
be a meeting of the chairmen of all com-
mittees in my office immediately following
the close of this session.
One other announcement has to do with
the parking lot. We have received urgent
requests from the persons having charge
of the parking lot to confine our use of it
to the area set apart for us. In the large
parking lot, which is designated for our
use, there is a rope which separates ap-
proximately forty or fifty spaces, I believe.
These have been assigned to the Governor's
staff. A number of you were not aware of
this and parked in those areas today. When
you park on the lot, please do not go behind
the roped-off area, which purposely has
been made at the back end of the lot. I
am not sure of my directions, but that is
the north end, I assume. Some of you who
are more familiar with Annapolis can cor-
rect me if I am wrong.
I think they are all the announcements
I have. I would like now to call on each of
the committee chairmen for any announce-
ments he may make. The Committee on
Calendar and Agenda, Delegate Powers.
DELEGATE POWERS: The Committee
on Calendar and Agenda will meet tomor-
row afternoon at 1:45 P.M. at the committee
office on the second floor of the State House.
THE PRESIDENT: The Committee on
Personal Rights and the Preamble, Dele-
gate Kiefer.
DELEGATE KIEFER.: Mr. President,
in view of your announcement of the meet-
ing of the chairmen, the meeting that was
called for this committee immediately after
this meeting will have to proceed without
me, but it will proceed because we have Mr.
James Gentry here talking to us, and I will
ask Mrs. Bothe if she will just attend to
this while I am gone.
THE PRESIDENT: Thank you. I should
have added two things to that announce-
ment that I made. I do not anticipate that
the meeting of the committee chairmen will
last more than a half hour. It will probably
be closer to fifteen minutes. Secondly, I
should have said what I think is under-
stood, that it is a meeting of committee
chairmen and officers.
The Committee on Suffrage and Elec-
tions, Delegate Koss.
DELEGATE KOSS: The Committee on
Suffrage and Elections will meet tomorrow
morning, Mr. President, at 10 o'clock in the
committee room in the Shaw House.
THE PRESIDENT: The Committee on
Legislative Branch, Delegate Gallagher.
DELEGATE GALLAGHER: Mr. Presi-
dent, the Committee on the Legislative
Branch will not meet after the full session
here this afternoon as originally announced,
but will meet tomorrow morning at 9:00
A.M. in the committee room.
THE PRESIDENT: The Committee on
the Executive Branch, Delegate Morgan.
DELEGATE MORGAN: Mr. President,
the Committee on the Executive Branch
was scheduled to meet this afternoon right
after the Convention adjourned. Because of
the meeting of the committee chairmen, it
will have to go on without me, and I will
ask one of the other members of the com-
mittee to chair the committee in my absence.
THE PRESIDENT: The Committee on
the Judicial Branch, Delegate Mudd.
DELEGATE MUDD: Mr. President, the
next committee meeting of the Judicial
Branch will not be held immediately follow-
ing this session as previously announced
but will be tomorrow morning in room H-9
at 10:00 A.M.
THE PRESIDENT: The Committee on
Local Government, Delegate Moser.
DELEGATE MOSER: Mr. President,
the Committee on Local Government will
reconvene at 3:15 P.M. this afternoon in its
meeting rooms, which incidentally are the
offices occupied by the Senate Finance Com-
mittee on the first floor of the Court of
Appeals Building, for those delegates who
may wish to attend the meetings.
THE PRESIDENT: Committee on State
Finance and Taxation, Delegate Sherbow.
DELEGATE SHERBOW: Our Commit-
tee meeting which is scheduled to take place
this afternoon will continue as scheduled,
and I will ask Mr. Case if he will take
over the meeting this afternoon and get
out the schedule of meetings with witnesses
that we have set for next week. We are
hopeful, Mr. President, that we will have
