will tell the Clerk to record the vote. The
Clerk will push another switch, and at
that point, you can no longer operate your
switch. You cannot change your vote. The
vote will then be recorded mechanically
on a punched paper, which then becomes a
part of the records of the Convention.
Are there any other announcements any
delegate desires to make?
The next thing is the group photograph.
They are setting up the camera now. We
would like all the delegates and the guests
to remain.
(At this time a short recess was taken.)
THE PRESIDENT: While we are wait-
ing for the photographers to set up, there
are a few other announcements I wanted
to make.
I understand that the small pictures for
the I.D. photographs can be taken from
9:30 A.M. until 3:30 P.M. starting Wednes-
day, September 13 — that is tomorrow —
and continuing through Friday, later if
necessary. Pictures will be taken in Room
309 of the State Office Building. That is the
building that is furthest from the Capitol;
starting at College .Avenue, it's the third
room back. The portrait that is being taken
of the Convention today is the formal por-
trait of the Convention. There will be an-
other one later. Copies of this picture will
be available for any delegates who want
one. I understand the cost is five dollars for
each additional print.

The report of the Rules Committee is, I
think, here now; and the pages will come
forward and distribute copies to you right
here.
I have one final announcement before I
recognize the Chairman of the Committee
on Calendar and Agenda to move the ad-
journment; I would like if I may be per-
mitted a purely personal reference, to tell
you that this gavel, which has been used
for the first time today, was made espe-
cially for my use as the President of this
Convention by Samuel Kirk and Son. I
would like to read to you the inscription on
the silver band: Presented to H. Vernon
Eney, President of the Constitutional Con-
vention of Maryland, by his wife, Septem-
ber 12,1967. (Applause.)

THE PRESIDENT: The Convention will
please come to order.
The invocation today will again be of-
fered by Delegate Bruce K. Price.
DELEGATE PRICE: Let Us Pray:
Oh, Lord, giver of all life and goodness
and happiness, we thank Thee again with
humbled hearts for Thy gift to us. We are
again mindful of the heritage which we
received from the past, of law and order
and freedom of dedicated men and women
who, through great sacrifice, have healed
our pain, comforted our fear, and brought
happiness into our troubled lives. Grant
us the grace to make our investment in
tomorrow as they have invested in our
today. Speak to our hearts that we may
be a blessing in the days yet to come so that
in the end Thy kingdom come and Thy will
be done among us.
Look upon us with great compassion and
mercy. Forgive us where we have sinned
against our brother by our lack of concern,
and bless all men of good will who learn
to heal the wounds of hate and injustice.
Help us to act courageously in the cause
of human dignity while there is still time.
To Thee be the praise and glory, world
without end. Amen.
