DELEGATE NEEDLE: I would like the
Convention to give a belated welcome to
some visitors in the gallery. They are the
family of our hard-working clerk better
known as the Poet Laureate of the Conven-
tion and includes his wife, Sylvia, and his
in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Kapper.
They braved the elements of this evening
and stayed with us until this late hour, and
I hope you will give them a warm welcome.
(Applause).

DELEGATE BAMBERGER: I would
ask the Convention to congratulate one of
the members who deserves congratulations
for restraining himself on the floor and,
secondly, today is his birthday. That is
Delegate Abramson.

THE PRESIDENT: Delegate Fornos.
DELEGATE FORNOS: A point of per-
sonal privilege, Mr. President.
THE PRESIDENT: State the privilege.
DELEGATE FORNOS: Most of us have
widows, Convention widows that is, at
home, but some of our female workers and
delegates have widowers, and I would like
the Convention to welcome Buddy Marx,
the husband of our Chief Page.

DELEGATE POWERS: Mr. President,
I move we adjourn until 12:00 noon to-
morrow.
THE PRESIDENT: Before adjourning,

THE PRESIDENT: The Sergeant-at-
Arms will clear the aisles and close the
doors.
The Convention will please come to order.
The invocation today will be offered by
Monsignor Philip Brown of St. Ambrose
Church, Cheverly. Monsignor Brown is the
minister of Delegate Boyer.
MONSIGNOR BROWN: In the Name of
the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy
Spirit.
Our help is in the name of the Lord, Who
hath made Heaven and earth. O, Lord hear
my prayer and let my cry come unto you.
Let n s pray.
O Lord, in these momentous clays of the
State Convention, grant to the leaders of
the State and the delegates, the elected
representatives of the people, wisdom in
knowing, courage in accomplishing, and
dedication in fulfilling the responsibilities
of their respective offices. May the fruits
of their endeavors bring peace and con-
cord, justice and happiness to all the citi-
zens of this great State, the Land of
Sanctuary. Through Christ our Lord,
Amen.

I move today's Calendar be amended by
deleting Item 7(i), Committee Recommen-
dation GP-4, since that was adopted about
three weeks ago on second reading and, as
amended, I move the Calendar and Agenda
be adopted.
