vious proposal on sex, that I would like to
dispose of that this evening. As a public
relations administrator at home, I have
found that when people work together they
should get all questions settled before they
go home for the evening or go to bed. I
do not want any of this Convention to worry
about what I am going to offer in reference
to this question tomorrow.
I might say that one of the few issues on
which I had my mind made up on, was that
I was for equal rights for women. Now, I
have been handed a research memorandum

from the Committee. I believe they con-
sidered this question rather thoroughly,
more thoroughly than I had realized. I
guess I was not thinking too clearly when I
put in that little amendment.
I certainly had a good purpose, and the
Committee itself handled the thing in their
original recommendation quite well. I am
very pleased to note that our legislature
has taken many progressive steps along this
line, so I believe the matter is well taken
care of. I am going to keep a copy of the
memo to explain to my friends and relatives
who believe in this principle of equal rights
and I am going to let the matter rest.
I am not going to bring up my suggested
amendment, even in a different form. I think
the Committee did a nice job and I am sorry
I took so darn much time over the thing
when they had done such a good job.

THE PRESIDENT: The Convention will
please come to order.
On behalf of the Committee of the Whole
the Chair reports that the Committee has
had under consideration Committee Recom-
mendation R&P-1, that it still has it under
consideration, and desires leave to sit again.

man, ladies and gentlemen of the Committee
of the Whole, the Committee on the Legisla-
tive Branch will meet tomorrow morning in

DELEGATE PENNIMAN: Mr. Chairman,
the Committee on Style will meet tomorrow
morning at 9:00.

dent, did I understand you to say earlier
that on the agenda tomorrow we will con-
sider some matters on second reading?
THE PRESIDENT: The Chair had in-
tended to have on the agenda, as a matter
of fact there is on the agenda for considera-
tion tomorrow afternoon second readers on
GP-1, 2, 4, and SF-1. They would be printed
