2102 CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION OF MARYLAND [Dec. 9]

(There was no response.)
The Clerk will record the vote.

There being 102 votes in the affirmative
and 3 in the negative, the motion carries.
The amendment is adopted.

Delegate Gallagher, do you desire to
submit your amendment G?

Delegate Hardwicke, in view of your
withdrawal of your amendment J, which
was withdrawn because of amendment G,
would you desire to offer amendment G?

DELEGATE HARDWICKE: Yes, Mr.
Chairman.

THE CHAIRMAN : Pages will distribute
Amendment G.

DELEGATE HARDWICKE: It is "J",
I believe.

THE CHAIRMAN : Would you prefer to
offer J or offer G?

DELEGATE HARDWICKE: I would
prefer to offer J.

THE CHAIRMAN: All right, the pages
will distribute amendment J. Amendment
J will be Amendment No. 7. The Clerk will
read the amendment.

READING CLERK: Amendment No. 7
to Committee Recommendation EB-2 by
Delegate Hardwicke: On page 2 section ,
Powers and Duties of the Attorney Gen-
eral, in line 7 after the word 'other" insert
the word "legal".

THE CHAIRMAN: The Chair recog-
nizes Delegate Powers.

I think, in view of the fact that Dele-
gate Gallagher had sent in an amendment
and is not here now, that we should not
act on the current amendment without an
opportunity to consider his. In view of the
lateness of the hour, I think we will do
better to recess for lunch.

DELEGATE POWERS: Mr. Chairman,
I move the Committee of the Whole rise
and report that it has not yet concluded
its consideration of Committee Recom-
mendation EB-2.

THE CHAIRMAN: Second?
(The motion was duly seconded.)

THE CHAIRMAN: All those in favor
signify by saying Aye; contrary, No. The
Ayes have it. It is so ordered.

(Whereupon, at 1 :25 P.M., the Committee
of the Whole rose, and the Convention re-
convened.)

(The mace was replaced by the Sergeant-
at-Arms.)
