1

I think most of us would agree that a great deal of time is

2

spent by every delegate and that this is one of the

3

principal purposes for doing that.

4

Also we will be at that time going into a phase

5

where we will begin to have much longer meetings of the

6

session itself and delegates will have even less time to

7

spend with their constituents or confer with them. It is

8

believed that it was important for that reason alone.

9

hope the motion will fail.

10

THE PRESIDENT: Any further discussion? Delegate

11

Scanlan?

12

DELEGATE SCANLAN: May I remind Delegate

13

Fornos and our fellow delegates the great Constitutional

14

Convention in Philadelphia in 1787 enjoyed several

15

brief respites from its important labors, and its final

16

product did not suffer from a week off in that case.

17

I think the final product of this Convention will not

18

suffer from a day off.

19

THE PRESIDENT: Any further discussion?

20

DELEGATE FORNOS: Mr. President.

21

THE PRESIDENT: Delegate Kiefer.
