BE IT RESOLVED: That the President be and is
hereby authorized to appoint the Secretary, the Chief
Clerk, the Sergeant at Arms, the Parliamentarian, the
Historian and such other officers as may be necessary
from time to time.

fered to clarify an ambiguity in the present rules. At

THE PRESIDENT: Delegate Scanlan, under the
rules, the resolution will have to be referred to the
Committee unless the rules are suspended for the purpose
of discussion of the resolution now.
DELEGATE SCANLAN: I move that the rules be sus-
pended, to permit the resolution now pending before
this Convention to be considered by today's session.
