THE PRESIDENT: Delegate Kiefer?
DELEGATE KIEFER: Mr. President, as announced
yesterday, next week will be devoted to hearings on due
process, equal protection of laws, and rights of the
poor. Wednesday evening the Committee on Personal
Rights and the Preamble has scheduled an open meeting
to which the public at large -w-er» invited, that is,
groups, individuals, et cetera, who wanted to express
their views on this subject. However, we now of course
recognize that this is the beginning of Jewish religious
holidays so we have postponed that hearing from 7:30
on October 4,to Monday, 7:30 p.m., and 1 want to be
sure that everybody who might be interested under-
stands this. This is to be given to the press, and
the hearing will take place on Monday, 7:50. Anyone
who wants to express themselves on these subjects are
