DELEGATE BURDETTE: Thank you.
THE PRESIDENT: Delegate Morgan. For what
purpose does the delegate rise?
DELEGATE MORGAN: Mr. Chairman, have we come
to Recommendation No. 2?
THE PRESIDENT: We have not. We are still in
Convention.
Delegate Barrick.
DELEGATE BARRICK: Mr. Chairman, I rise for a
personal privilege.
THE PRESIDENT: State the privilege.
DELEGATE BARRICK: Delegate Bard earlier in the
day told us how the Convention had interfered with his
wedding anniversary, and now he comes to us this evening in
formal clothes and apparently we are further interfering
with his social life, and I would just like to point out
the sacrifice that he is making. (Applause.)
THE PRESIDENT: Delegate Marion.
DELEGATE MARION: Mr. President, might I be
permitted a brief personal observation?
THE PRESIDENT: You may. |
