twenty-one years and upwards, having resided as a citizen twelve
months;"
Which was read.
Mr. Dorsey moved to amend said amendment by striking out
the words "this State," and inserting in lieu thereof, the words
"the United States."
Mr. Weems accepted this amendment.
On motion of Mr. Weems,
Said amendment was further amended by inserting after the
word "resided," in the last line thereof, these words, ‘‘in this
State;"
The question then recurred upon the adoption of the amend
ment as amended.
Mr. McHenry moved the question be taken by yeas and nays,
