November 23, 1799.
THE senate met. Present the same members as
on yesterday. The proceedings of yesterday
were read.
On motion, Mr. Forrest delivers to the president a bill,
entitled, An act for the benefit of
Richard Ross and William Ross, of Prince-George's county; which was read
the first and second
time by especial order, passed, and, with the bill, entitled, An act to
revive and aid the proceedings
of the orphans court of Calvert county, sent to the house of delegates
by the clerk.
The clerk of the house of delegates delivers to the
clerk of the senate a bill, entitled, An act
for the more effectual preservation of the breed of wild deer in Somerset
and Dorchester
counties, thus endorsed; " By the house of delegates, November 19, 1799:

" ordered to lie on the table.

And also the following message:
By the HOUSE of DELEGATES, November 23, 1799.
GENTLEMEN OF THE SENATE,
THE executive having made sundry communications to the
legislature during this session,
which embrace subjects deeply interesting to the state, we propose a committee
of conference
with your house, to deliberate on the same. The subjects which
we particularly allude to are the
claim of Henry Harford against this state, the situation of our bank stock
in England, and the
communications from the governor of Pennsylvania, relative to the Susquehanna
river navigation,
and the communication between the waters of the Chesapeake and Delaware.
In order to
investigate these important subjects, we have appointed Mr. Key, Mr. Taney,
Mr. Duckett, Mr.
J. Thomas, Mr. Tilghman and Mr. Barroll, to meet any gentlemen of your
house that you may
nominate if you approve of the conference.

Which said bill and message were severally read and the bill ordered to
lie on the table.
The bill, entitled, An act to revive the proceedings
of the orphans court of Harford county,
was read the second time and will pass.
The house adjourns until Monday morning 10 o'clock.

A Y, November 25, 1799.
THE senate met. Present the same members as
on yesterday. The proceedings of Saturday
were read. John Grahame, Esquire, appeared in the senate, and qualified
in the presence
of the senate before Allen Quynn, Esquire, one of the justices of the peace
for Anne-Arundel
county, agreeably to the constitution and form of government.
The house adjourns until to-morrow morning 10 o'clock.

1799.

on yesterday. The proceedings of yesterday
were read.
The clerk of the house of delegates delivers to the
clerk of the senate a bill, entitled, An act
to compel the clerk of Dorchester county court to make out a list of fees
due the crier of said
court, and a bill, entitled, An act to authorise and empower the levy court
of Montgomery
county to assess and levy annually a sum of money for the support of
Michael O'Daniel, severally
thus endorsed; " By the house of delegates, November 25, 1799: Read
the first and second time

A bill, entitled, An act to repeal an act, entitled, An act to prevent
the exportation of flour
not merchantable from George-town, in Frederick county, thus endorsed;
