John Thomas, Charles Ridgely, of Hampton, THE senate having a sufficient number of members to form a house, are ready to proceed to the business of the session, and propose to go into the choice of a governor immediately, and have appointed David McMechen and William Hindman, Esquires, to join such gentlemen as may be appointed by your house in the examination of the ballots. Benjamin Ogle, Esquire, if put in nomination by this house. By order, A. VAN-HORN, clk. The president communicates to the senate a list made by William Richardson, junior, treasurer of the eastern shore, of balances due in the several counties of the eastern shore upon the treasury books on the first day of November, 1799; which was read. The president communicates to the senate a letter from Samuel A. Otis, secretary to the senate of the United States, accompanied by a copy of their journals at the third session of the fifth congress; which was read.
