The bill to lay out, alter and confirm, certain roads in Allegany county, endorsed; " By the
" senate, December 31, 1799:  Read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.

" By the senate, January 1, 1800:  Read the second time by especial order and will pass.

    Ordered to be engrossed.
The bill to authorise a sale of the real estate of the late John Rogers, if approved by the chancellor,
endorsed; " By the senate, December 31, 1799:  Read the first time and ordered to lie
" on the table.

" By the senate, January 1, 1800:  Read the second time by especial order and will not pass.

The bill to authorise the register of the land-office to correct the patent therein mentioned, the
bill to repeal an act, entitled, An act to prevent the going at large of geese and swine in the
town of Havre-de-Grace, in Harford county, passed at November session, 1798, severally endorsed;
" By the senate, January 1, 1800:  Read the first time and ordered to lie on the table.

    THE house met.  Present the same members as on yesterday.  The proceedings of yesterday
were read.
    The bill to empower the levy court of Prince-George's county to lay off a road in said county,
the bill relating to certain public roads in Anne-Arundel county, the resolution respecting the
address of president George Washington, and the bill for the relief of sundry insolvent debtors,
were sent to the senate by the clerk.
    The following message being prepared, was read, agreed to, and sent to the senate, with the
resolution in favour of Darby McNamara, by the clerk.

By the HOUSE of DELEGATES, January 2, 1800.
        GENTLEMEN OF THE SENATE,
    WE have discovered other evidence touching the claim of Darby McNamara, and we trust, on
view of it, you will be induced to reconsider the resolution in his favour.
                                                    By order,                                        W.  HARWOOD, clk.
    The following message being prepared, was read, agreed to, and sent to the senate, with the
bill to aid and revive the proceedings of the court of appeals, by the clerk.
By the HOUSE of DELEGATES, January 2, 1800.
        GENTLEMEN OF THE SENATE,
    WE have assented to your first two amendments to the bill, entitled, An act to aid and revive
the proceedings of the court of appeals, but the third amendment we have dissented from, as
operating to the prejudice of the appellants after they have secured the debtor, by giving additional
security at the time of prosecuting the appeal or writ of error; if this security is not adequate,
we could wish some mode devised to render it so.
                                                    By order,                                        W.  HARWOOD, clk.
    The following message being prepared, was read, agreed to, and sent to the senate by the
clerk.
By the HOUSE of DELEGATES, January 2, 1800.
        GENTLEMEN OF THE SENATE,
    WE have so far completed the business before us as to afford well grounded hopes that the session
can be brought to a close to-morrow evening; we hope it will be agreeable to you to rise at
that time.
                                                    By order,                                        W.  HARWOOD, clk.
    Whereas the compensation allowed to the trustee under the act respecting the creditors and
debtors of this state, passed at November session, seventeen hundred and ninety, after the first
year, is inadequate to the services required of him, RESOLVED, That the said trustee shall be
entitled to receive, as an additional compensation for his services for the present year, the sum
of two hundred dollars.
    Sent to the senate by the clerk.
    The bill to make valid a certificate of land therein mentioned, was read the second time, passed,
and sent to the senate by the clerk.
    The amendments to the bill to prevent unnecessary delay and expence, and for the further advancement
of justice, in the court of chancery, were read the second time, agreed to, and the
bill ordered to be engrossed.
    The report on the petition of Samuel Turbutt Wright was read the second time, the resolution
therein contained assented to, and sent to the senate by the clerk.
    The report on the petition of George Chocke, was read the second time, the resolution therein
contained assented to, and sent to the senate by the clerk.
    RESOLVED, That the treasurer of the western shore retain specie in the treasury to meet all
appropriations that arose due on the first day of November last, the journal of accounts of the
