Shall qualify.
|
qualify by taking an oath to be administered by some justice
of the peace of said county residing in said town ; that he
will diligently and faithfully, to the best of his skill and judg-
ment, perform the duties of Town Commissioner of said town
without favor, partiality or prejudice, and a certificate of such
qualification shall be returned by the said justice of the peace
to the Town Commissioners and be filed and recorded among
their proceedings.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 91.
AN ACT to extend the privileges, enlarge the powers, and
amend the charter of the Land and Loan Association of
Ellicott City and Howard County, so as to enable it to loan
money on or purchase promissory and negotiable notes,
bills obligatory or other evidences of debt.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Land and Loan Association of Ellicott City
and Howard County be and the same is hereby authorized
and empowered to loan money on, or when they deem it
desirable, to purchase promissory and negotiable notes, bills
obligatory or other evidences of debt.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said corporation shall
be subject to the provisions of Chapter one hundred and nine
of the Acts of the General Assembly of eighteen hundred and
ninety -two, as amended by Chapter one hundred and sixty
of the Acts of the General Assembly of eighteen hundred and
ninety-six, and to all general laws applicable to companies
or associations of a character similar to that named in this
Act.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 92.
AN A.CT to add an additional section to Article 8 of the
Code of Public Local Laws, title "Cecil County," sub-title
"Circuit Court," relating to original writs.
