LAWS OF MARYLAND.

Counterfeiting
and forgery.

Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Crimes and Punish-
ments," sub-title "Counterfeiting and Forgery," be and the
same is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, so
as to read follows:

Sec. 32. Any person who shall falsely make, forge or coun-
terfeit or cause or procure to be falsely made, forged or coun-
terfeited, or willingly aid or assist in falsely making, forging,
altering or counterfeiting any deed, will, testament or codicil,
bond, writing obligatory, bill of exchange, promissory note
for the payment of money or property, endorsement or assign-
ment of any bond, writing obligatory, bill of exchange, acquit-
tance or receipt for money or property, or any acquittance or
receipt either for money or for property, with intention to
defraud any person whomsoever, or shall utter or publish as
true any false, forged, altered or counterfeited deed, will,
testament or codicil, bond, writing obligatory, bill of ex-
change, promissory note for the payment of money or property,

or endorsement or assignment of any bond, writing obligatory,
bill of exchange, promissory note, acquittance or receipt for
money or property shall be deemed a felon, and on being con-
victed thereof shall be sentenced to the penitentiary for not
less than one nor more than ten years.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That every offense which
has been or shall have been committed against the law hereby
repealed before this Act takes effect, shall be dealt with as if
said law had not been repealed, and no case or proceeding
pending shall abate by reason of such repeal; provided also
that any liability in respect to any act of counterfeiting or
forgery committed before this Act takes effect shall continue
and be of the same force and effect as if said law had not been
repealed.

CHAPTER 591.
AN ACT to provide for a sanitary officer for the thirteenth
election district of Baltimore county.

certain district

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Baltimore county
are authorized to appoint annually an experienced physician,
a resident of the thirteenth election district of said county,
who shall act as sanitary officer for Westport, Mount Winans,
Halethorpe, Landsdowne, St. Denis, Violetville and vicinity,
