SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect

AN ACT to repeal Section thirty-seven of Article 21 of the
Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, title "Convey-
ancing," sub-title "Mortgages," and to re-enact the same
with amendments.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section thirty-seven of Article 21 of the Code of
Public General Laws, title "Conveyancing," sub-title "Mort-
gages," be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted
with amendments so as to read as follows:

Mortgages.

37. When the mortgage, with the release thereon, is filed
for the purpose of recording the release, the Clerk shall re-
tain such mortgage in his office and not permit the same to be
again withdrawn; provided, however, that if the release is
partial in its character, after the recording of the same, the
Clerk may permit the mortgage to be withdrawn.

AN ACT to pay Samuel P. Wilson, late tax collector for
First Collection District of Wicomico County a sum of
money erroneously paid by him into the State Treasury.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Comptroller of the Treasury be and he is
hereby authorized and directed to issue his warrant upon the
Treasurer of the State to pay and reimburse Samuel P. Wil-
son, of Wicomico County, the sum of eighty-nine dollars and
eighty-nine cents, being the amount overpaid by said Samuel
P. Wilson to the Treasurer as collector of said taxes for the
First Collection District of Wicomico County for the years
1890 and' 1891, and certified to by the Comptroller and Treas-
urer of the State, and by them recommended to be refunded.
SEC. 2. Be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect from
the date of its passage.
