said district shall file with the Clerk of the Circuit Court for
Queen Anne's County a writtei application for a license,
signed by such applicant or applicants, setting forth the full
name or name of the applicant or applicants, together with
the exact location in said district of the place where said
liquors are to be sold, which application shall be endorsed
with the written recommendation of at least twelve free-
holders residing in said district, each of whom is assessed
upon the tax books of said county with real estate at a valua-
tion of not less than one thousand dollars. Second, and such
applicant or applicants, or in event of such applicant being a

body corporate, then its duly authorized agents at the time
of making such application shall make oath before the said
clerk that he, they or it will keep an orderly house; that no
spirituous or fermented liquor or lager beer will be sold at
such place, bartered or given away, directly or indirectly, on
the Lord's day, commonly called Sunday, and that no such
liquors will be at any time sold, bartered or given away,
directly or indirectly, to any person under the age of twenty-
one years, or to any person whose juvenile appearance would
be sufficient to put the vender of such liquors upon inquiry.

193A. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of the
said clerk to issue a license to sell spirituous or fermented
liquors and lager beer to every applicant complying with the
foregoing section and the provisions thereof upon the pay-
ment by such applicant to said clerk of the sum of one hun-
dred and fifty dollars for said license, and one dollar as a fee
to said clerk for issuing the same.

I93B. And be it enacted, That it shall be unlawful for any
person, persons or body corporate engaged in selling liquors
in said district under the provisions of the preceding sections
to sell, barter, give away or otherwise dispose of any spiritu-
ous or fermented liquors or lager beer on or during the Lord's
Day, commonly called Sunday, and any person violating this
section shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon
being convicted thereof shall be punished by a fine of not less
than fifty dollars nor more than five hundred dollars for each
offense, or by imprisonment in the House of Correction for a
term of not less than thirty days nor more than six months,
or both, in the discretion of the court, and the license issued
to such party so convicted shall be deemed forfeited from the
date of such conviction.

in said district under the provisions of the preceding section
