said county, at a special election to be held at the usual place
of holding elections in said district, on the fourth Saturday
in April next, between the hours of 8 o'clock A.M. and 6
o'clock P.M., during which time the polls shall be kept open
by the judges of election.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the sheriff of said county
shall give public notice of the purpose, time and place of
holding said elections at least two weeks prior to the day of
the holding of said election, by publishing such notice in two
newspapers published in said county, and also by printed
hand-bills to be set up at the most public places in said dis-
trict; but if for any reason said notice shall not be given, or
if given shall not exactly conform to the provisions of this
section, then, in either event, such failure shall not affect this
Act or operate to prevent its taking effect.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the County Commis-
sioners of Queen Anne's County shall at least ten days prior
to said election appoint three judges of election, who shall in
time, prior to or on the date of said election, appoint two clerks,
residents of said district, and hold the election as herein pro-
vided; the said judges and clerks of election first qualifying
themselves to act as such by taking before a justice of the
peace the oaths prescribed by Section ten of Article 33 of the
Code of Public General Laws, title "Elections," but said
election shall be held in all other respects under the pro-
visions of law as they existed prior to the Acts of eighteen
hundred and ninety, Chapter five hundred and thirty-eight,
and shall be in nowise affected by said Act or subsequent
amendments of Article 33 of the Code of Public General
Laws, title "Elections."

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the County Commissioners
of Queen Anne's County shall obtain and transmit to the said
judge of election prior to the day of the holding of said elec-
tion ten certified copies of the test of qualified voters residing
in said district, No. 5, according to the last general registra-
tion, and no person whose name shall not appear thereon shall
be entitled to vote at said election; and it shall further be the
duty of said County Commissioners to furnish the said judges
of election with ballot-box, books and all necessary stationary
and other articles required to properly hold said election,
including a sufficient number of ballots to accommodate the
voters of said district, upon which said ballots shall be
printed the words hereinafter provided; but, if for any reason
this provision shall not be carried out as herein directed, or
