LAWS OF MARYLAND.

Title to
water-works

SEC. 5. And be it enacted, That the title to said water-work
so constructed or purchased, with all the bonds, water-mains,
pipes, privileges, franchises, tools and materials thereto apper-
taining or belonging, shall vest in the Burgess and Commis-
sioners of Boonsboro in their corporate capacity.

pollute any
stream, spring,
etc.

SEC. 6. And be it enacted, That all persons are prohibited,
from wilfully or knowingly polluting any stream, spring,
brook, water-course or reservoir, in connection with said water-
works, by throwing any impure or deleterious thing or sub-
stance in the same, or by swimming, washing themselves or
clothes, or any other impure thing therein, or by committing

any nuisance in or near the sources of water supply, or reser-
voir, so as to pollute the same. Any person convicted of any
of the above offenses shall be fined not less than five ($5.00)
dollars nor more than fifty ($50.00) dollars; one-half of said
fine to be paid to the informer and the other half to go to the
said Burgess and Commissioners of Boonsboro for the purpose
of this Act; said fine to be recovered before a justice of the-
peace. If the person so convicted fails or refuses to pay the
fine imposed he shall be confined in the county jail for not
less than ten days.

SEC. 7. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect,
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 507.
AN ACT to provide for an election to be held in Election
District No. 5 (or Queenstown District) of Queen Anne's
County to regulate the liquor traffic therein, and repealing
Section one hundred and ninety -three of Article 18 of the
Code of Public Local Laws, title "Queen Anne's County,"
sub-title "Liquor and Intoxicating Drinks," as amended by
the Act of eighteen hundred and ninety -six, Chapter three
hundred and forty-eight, and re-enacting the same with
the addition of certain new sections to be designated as
Sections 193A, 1936, 193C, 193D, 193E and 193F, so as
to read as hereinafter provided:

mitted to legal
voters of said
district.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the questions whether or not any person, persons
or body corporate may be licensed to sell spirituous or fer-
mented liquors or lager beer within the limits of Election Dis-
trict No. 5 of Queen Anne's County shall be submitted to the
legal and qualified voters, duly registered in said district of.
