SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 501.
AN ACT to add an additional section to Article 21 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of the State of Maryland, en-
titled "Talbot County," sub-title "Easton," to be inserted
after Section 53A of said Article and to be designated Sec-
tion 53B, authorizing the Commissioners of Easton to re-
quire culverts to be constructed in any open drain or ditch
running through private property in said town.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the following section be and the same is hereby
added to Article 21 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland, entitled "Talbot County," sub-title "Easton," to
be inserted after Section 53A. of said Article and to be desig-
nated as Section 53B, and to read as follows:

drains, etc.,

53B. The Commissioners of Easton are authorized and em-
powered to require the construction of culverts in any open
drains, ditch or ditches running through private property in
said town by the owner or owners of such property whenever
in the judgment of said Commissioners any such drain or
ditch has become a nuisance or a menace to the public health;
and the said Commissioners are further authorized and em-
powered to do any act or acts and to pass any ordinance or
ordinances necessary to carry out the provisions of this Act,
and to enforce the powers herein given.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 502.
AN ACT to repeal Section seventy-two of Article 16 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Montgomery
County," sub-title ''Election Districts," and to re-enact the
same with amendments.
