carry forward and promote the work of said institution; there-

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the "Trustees of the Home for the Aged of Freder-
ick City," and their successors in said corporate name, be and
it is hereby authorized and empowered to receive and hold in
trust and to use and dispose of all kinds of gifts, grants, con-
veyances, donations, devises and bequests of estate, real,
personal and mixed property and effects, not exceeding in
amount three hundred thousand dollars.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 10.

AN ACT to amend the charter and extend the powers of
Maryland Casualty Company.

SECTION 1. Be U enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Maryland Casualty Company, a corporation
heretofore formed under the provisions of Article 23 of the
Code of Public General Laws of Maryland, entitled "Corpo-
rations," the charter of which company was amended by
Chapter forty-three of the Acts of General Assembly of Mary-
land of 1898, in addition to the powers possessed by it under
the General Laws of this State, and under the said last -men-
tioned Act, shall have the further powers hereinafter given.

SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That the said Maryland
Casualty Company may carry on and conduct the business of
inspecting boilers, engines and mechanical appliances and
machinery of all kinds, at such rates of compensation, if any,
as may be agreed upon between the said company and the
persons for whom such inspection shall be made.

Sac. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
