SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly, That
Articles 6, 10 and 21 of the Code of Public Local Laws, titles,
respectively, "Caroline County," "Dorchester County" and
''Talbot County," sub-title "Fish," be and the same are
hereby amended by adding thereto two new sections, to be
designated as Sections 146A and 146B of Article 6, and Sec-
tions 187 A and 187B of Article 10, and Sections 116A and
116B of Article 21, and to read as follows:

cle 21. It shall be unlawful for any person to use stake nets, J
fyke nets, patent twine wires, or any other devices or contriv-
ances, to take or catch fish in the waters of the Great Chop-
tank River having a hedging or any other extension longer
than eight hundred yards in that part of the river from its

Point, and having a hedging or any other extension longer
than four hundred yards in that part of the river between the

that part of the river above the said line from Kates Point to
Drum Point, and that each net or weir shall not be closer to
another than four hundred yards; provided, however, that the
meshes of all nets are in the bar not less than one and one-
half inches. Any person who shall violate the provisions of

this Act shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and, on
conviction thereof before any court or justice of the peace
having jurisdiction, shall be fined fifty dollars (one-half of
which shall be paid to the informer and one-half to the deputy
game warden of the county) and costs, and stand committed to
the county jail until fine and costs are paid; and shall also
forfeit his nets, weirs and all appliances, which shall be sold
at public sale ,by the constable or other officer making the
arrest; and the proceeds of said sale, after deducting costs of
sale, shall be paid to the County Commissioners of the county
wherein said sale shall take place for the use of the public
schoo'ls of said county.
