as may be necessary to pay the interest on the bonds issued
in pursuance of this Act as the same shall fall due, and also,
after the expiration of twenty years from date of said bonds,
such further and additional sums as may be required to grad-
ually retire and redeem said bonds, until all of them shall
have been redeemed and said tax authorized under this Act
shall be collected, as other taxes are collected in said county,
and shall be applied to no other use or purpose whatever.
SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 484.
AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money for the purpose of
repairing and refurnishing the Executive Mansion.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Governor of this State be and he is hereby
authorized to have the Executive Mansion repaired and
refurnished, and for such purpose the sum of ten thousand
dollars, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be and the
same is hereby appropriated; and the Comptroller is hereby
authorized and directed to issue his warrant upon the Treas-
urer for such amounts as the Governor may require, not
exceeding, however, the amount hereby appropriated, he
making return to the Comptroller of the amount expended,
together with the vouchers for the same.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to properly care for, exhibit and preserve the Battle
Flags carried by Maryland Regiments during the Civil War,
1861-65.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Governor of Maryland be and he is hereby
authorized and directed to appoint, within thirty days from
the passage of this Act, a Commission composed of four citi-
zens of Marland who shall have served with honor and credit,
either in the army or navy, during the late Civil War, 1861-65 —
two of said commission to be appointed to be selected from
those who fought with distinction on behalf of the Union, and
