SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 430.
AN ACT to refund to Charles J. Maddox, Surveyor of Mont-
gomery County, a sum of money erroneously paid by him
into the State Treasury as taxes on his official commission.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Treasurer of the State of Maryland be and he
is hereby authorized and directed, upon the warrant of the
Comptroller, to pay Charles J. Maddox, Surveyor of Mont-
gomery County, the sum of thirty- eight dollars, the amount
of supposed taxes on his official commission, erroneously
paid by him into the State Treasury.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 431.
AN ACT to amend Sections 6B, 6E and 6K of Chapter three
hundred and twelve of the Acts of eighteen hundred and
ninety-eight, and to re-enact the same, with amendments.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Sections 6B, 6E and 6K of Chapter three hundred
and twelve of the Acts of eighteen hundred and ninety-eight
be and the same are hereby repealed and re-enacted so as to
read as follows:

Chapter 312.
Re-enacted.

Sec. 6B. Each local register shall be empowered, with the
advice and consent of the Board of Health, to designate com-
petent persons to the number of not more than two in each
election district, who shall act as sub-registers, and shall
within the district for which they are appointed issue burial
permits and perform such other services under this Act as the
local Board of Health may direct during the term for which
the appointing register was appointed.

Sec. 6E. No interment of any dead body of any human
being, or disposition thereof in any tomb, vault or cemetery,
shall be made without a permit, as aforesaid, from the register
