SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That it shall be unlawful for any citizen of Charles
County or any other person to take or catch oysters in any
manner whatever from the waters of the Wicomico river,
belonging to Charles County, from the 15th day of April to
the 15th day of September of any year. Any one violating
the provisions of this section shall, upon conviction before
any justice or court having jurisdiction, be fined not less than

twenty-five dollars nor more than fifty dollars, and in default
of payment be confined in the county jail or House of Correc-
tion for not less than thirty days nor more than sixty days,
within the discretion of the justice or court trying the case.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 414.
AN ACT to abolish the payment of appearance fees to Attor-
neys at Law by the County Commissioners of Baltimore
County in habeas corpus cases arising in said county.

Penalty.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That hereafter the payment of appearance fees to attor-
neys at law by the County Commissioners of Baltimore
County, in what are known as habeas corpus cases, arising
in said county, be and the same is hereby abolished and for-
bidden.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

Approved April 7, 1900.

CHAPTER 416.
AN ACT to declare the sanction of the General Assembly of
Maryland to sundry gifts, bequests and devises contained
in the last will and testament of Willie F. Hooper, late of
Wicomico County.

land, That the sanction of the General Assembly of Mary-
land be and the same is hereby declared, given and granted to
