SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 412.
AN ACT to add a sub-section to be designated Sub-section
203A, to Section two hundred and three of Article 10 of the
Code of Public Local Laws, title "Dorchester County,"
sub-title "Justices of the Peace."

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a sub-section, to be designated Sub-section 203A,
be and the same is hereby added to Section two hundred and
three of Article 10 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title
"Dorchester County," sub-title "Justices of the Peace," the
same to follow said Section two hundred and three and to read
as follows:

In criminal
cases may
amend the
warrant, etc.

Sec. 203A. In all criminal cases before justices of the peace
the justice of the peace, of his own motion, or on the motion
of the State's attorney, may, at any time before the
trial begins amend the warrant or any other proceeding in
any such cases pending before him, or the State's attorney may
file a charge in the nature of an indictment, to be signed be
such States' attorney, and the case shall be tried on such
charge, instead of the warrant, and in all criminal trials in the
Circuit Court where the cases have been removed to said
county on an application for a jury, whether such removal is
made on the motion of the State's attorney or the defendant,
or in case of an appeal from a justice of the peace, the court,
on motion of the State's attorney, may at any time before the
trial or during the progress of trial amend the warrant or other
proceedings, or before the trial begins, the State's attorney
may file a charge in the nature of an indictment, setting forth
the offense, and the case shall be tried on such charge, instead
of on the warrants.

AN ACT to regulate the time of taking oysters by the citi-
zens of Charles County in the waters of Wicomico river,
sub-title "Oysters."
