CHAPTER 408.
AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to meet the
deficiencies in the appropriations of certain contingent funds
for the fiscal year 1900.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the sum of five thousand dollars, or so much
thereof as may be necessary, be and the same is hereby appro-
priated to meet the deficiencies for the fiscal year 1900 in the
appropriations of the following contingent funds, viz: For the
contingent fund of the Executive, the sum of two thousand
dollars, for the contingent fund of the Board of Public Works,
the sum of two thousand dollars, and for the contingent fund
of the Comptroller, the sum of one thousand dollars.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the Treasurer of the State
shall, upon the warrant of the Comptroller, disburse the said
sums of money, or so much thereof as may be necessary, in
accordance with the provisions of Chapter four hundred and
nine of the Acts of the General Assembly of eighteen hundred
and ninety-eight.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 409.
AN ACT to prohibit the County Commissioners of Baltimore
County from spending or appropriating any greater sum of
money than they shall have levied upon the taxable basis
of said county, for the current expenses of said county, for
the ensuing year for which said levy is made.

How disbursed

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the County Commissioners of Baltimore County
be and they are hereby prohibited from spending or appro-
priating during the ensuing year any sum or sums of money
other than they shall have levied upon the taxable basis of
Baltimore County to meet the necessary expenses for the
ensuing year for which said levy is made.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That said County Commissioners
shall not divert any appropriation or use the same or any part
thereof under any circumstances for any other purpose other
than for which it is levied.
