161A-2. The supervisors of election of the City of Hagers-
town shall receive an annual salary of twenty-five dollars, to
be paid by the Mayor and Council of Hagerstown.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 389.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
nineteen, of Article 77, of the Code of Public General
Laws, title "Public Education."

Annual salary.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section nineteen of Article 77 of the Code of Public
General Laws, title ''Public Education," be and the same is
hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments so as to read
as follows:

Public
education.

SEC. 19. The Board of County School Commissioners is
hereby declared to be a body politic and corporate by the name
and style of the Board of County School Commissioners of
————— County, and by that name shall have perpetual suc-
cession, and shall be capable to sue and be sued, to use and
have a common seal and the same at their pleasure to alter
or break, and to exercise all the powers and privileges hereby
granted to or vested in them; and every County School Com-
missioner and County School Examiners and assistant exam-
iners shall have power to take affidavits and administer oaths
in all matters pertaining to public schools, but without charge
or fee.

Article 16 of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled
"Chancery," sub-title "Sales," as amended by Acts of
eighteen hundred and ninety, Chapter three hundred and
