the recent officers of said force remain in office and perform
their duties until their successors are duly appointed and
qualified, and that all Acts or parts of Acts inconsistent with
the provisions of this Act, general or local, be and the
same are hereby repealed to the extent that they are so incon-
sistent.

CHAPTER 381.
AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to meet the addi-
tional expenses of the Legislature of Maryland for the Ses-
sion of nineteen hundred.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the sum of twenty thousand dollars, or so much
thereof as may be necessary, be and the same is hereby appro-
priated to pay the members and officers of the General
Assembly, as well as all miscellaneous expenses of said Ses-
sion of nineteen hundred, in accordance with Chapter four
hundred and nine of the Acts of eighteen hundred and ninety-
eight.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the Treasurer of the State
shall, on the warrant of the Comptroller, disburse the said
sum of money herein appropriated for the objects and pur-
poses herein specified to, or upon the order of the person or
persons entitled to receive the same.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 382.
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
nine of Article 24 of the Code of Public General Laws,
title "Costs."
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That Section nine of Article 24 of the Code of Public
General Laws, title "Costs," be and the same is hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, so as to read as
follows :
