any wild ducks, geese, brant or swan without such permission
shall be fined twenty-five dollars and cost, and, on failure to
pay said fine of twenty-five dollars, the offender shall be com-
mitted to the House of Correction or the county jail for not
less than ten nor more than thirty days for each offense. In
the case of conviction of any person for violations of the pro-
visions of this section, one-half of all the fines imposed and
collected shall be paid to the person procuring said conviction
and the other half of said fines shall be paid in the free school
treasury of Dorchester County for the use of the said schools.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 379.
AN ACT to incorporate the "Garrett County Telephone
Company."

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That William A. Smith, John E. Gnagey, William M.
Miller, James W. Friend, Emmanuel Custer, and their suc-
cessors, be and they are hereby appointed commissioners to
take subscriptions to the capital stock of the "Garrett County
Telephone Company," hereby incorporated, and they, or a
majority of them, may cause books to be opened at such time
and places, and for such period or periods, upon giving notice
as they may deem expedient, of the time and places of open-
ing the same; and if any of such commissioners shall die,
resign or refuse to act, another or others may be appointed in
his or their stead by a majority of the remaining commis-
sioners.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the subscribers to said
stock, their successors and assigns, shall be and they are
hereby declared to be incorporated into a company by the
name of "The Garrett County Telephone Company," and by
that name shall be capable in law of purchasing, holding, sell-
ing, leasing and conveying estates and property, real, per-
sonal and mixed, so far as may be necessary, to carry out the
objects of said body corporate; to sue and be sued, to plead
and be impleaded, in any court of law or equity; to make,
have and use a common seal, and the same to break, alter and
renew, at their pleasure; to make by-laws for the government
of said body corporate and its officers, provided the same
shall not conflict with the Constitution or laws of this State
