LAWS OF MARYLAND.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, Said corporation has been formed for the pur-
pose of establishing and maintaining a hospital for sick and
homeless persons; and the property rights of said corporation
are under the control and management of the following trus-
tees: Aquilla R. Yeakle, L. Victor Baughman, G. Waring
Tyson, Thomas H. Haller, Adrain McCardell, Jacob Roh-
beck, John U. Markell, Cyrus F Flook, W. Irving Parsons,
Edward Y. Goldsborough, David C. Winebrener, David
Lowenstein, J. Welty Fahenly and Hammond Urner; there-
fore,

Appropriation.

SECTION i. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Treasurer of Maryland, on the warrant of the
Comptroller, be and he is hereby authorized and directed to
pay to the order of the said Trustees of said ' 'The Frederick
City Hospital Association of Frederick County, Maryland,"
the sum of five hundred dollars, to be used in erecting a
suitable building and maintaining the same as a hospital at
Frederick City, in Frederick County, Maryland.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 362.
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 35 of the Maryland
Code of Public General Laws, entitled "Evidence," to fol-
low after Section thirty-five of said Article, under the sub-
title "Proof of Consideration," and to be known as Sec-
tion 35A.

consideration.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the following new section be added to Article 35,
entitled "Evidence," of the Maryland Code of Public General
Laws, to follow immediately after Section thirty-five of said
Article, under the sub-title "Proof of Consideration:"

Not necessary
in writing.

Sec. 35 A. Where an action, suit or other proceeding is
brought for the purpose of charging any person and a special
promise to be answerable for the debt, default or miscarriage
of another person, it shall not be necessary to show that the
consideration for such promise is in writing.
