JOHN WALTER SMITH, ESQ., GOVERNOR.

corporation formed under Article 23 of the Code of Public
General Laws of Maryland, entitled "Corporations," and
recorded in one of the Records of Corporations of Frederick
County, Liber No. 2, Folios 265 and 266, be and the same are
hereby repealed and re-enacted, so as to read as follows:

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Frederick Electric
Light and Power Company shall have power to contract for
and furnish electricity and electric currents for all purposes,
and extend its poles and wires so as to furnish the same to
any point in Frederick County; provided, that consent is
first obtained by said company from the County Commis-
sioners to construct, string or build pole lines, conductors and
conduits, under, along, upon or over the roadways and streets
of Frederick County; and provided, that this section shall not
be construed to confer upon said company any other or greater
authority than it has heretofore possessed in reference to the
use of any of the streets, lanes, alleys or roadways within the
corporate limits of the City of Frederick.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That said Frederick Electric
Light and Power Company shall also have power to manufac-
ture and sell and to furnish such quantities of electricity or
electric currents as may be required or desired at any point
that may be desired in Frederick County, and to contract for
and furnish electricity or electric currents for fighting streets,
roads, public or private buildings for motive power, and for
all other purposes in said county, or in any town therein; and
said corporation is hereby authorized and empowered to lay,
purchase, construct, string or build pole lines, conductors and
conduits under, along, upon or over the roadways and streets
wheresoever located in Frederick County, and over, under
and along any private property in said county, the consent of
the owners thereof being first had and obtained; provided,
that this section shall not be construed to confer upon said
company any other or greater authority than it has hereto-
fore possessed in reference to the use of any of the streets,
lanes, alleys or roadways within the corporate limits of the
City of Frederick.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
