natural or artificial curiosities (except models of useful
inventions) during the months of August, September and
October in any year, (except to fair associations or persons
authorized by them), and providing penalties for such
unlicensed exhibitions.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Talbot County
shaii not issue license to any person or company of circus
riders or equestrian performers to exhibit fora reward in said
county, or to any person or company to exhibit for a reward
any animal or animals or natural or artificial curiosities of
any kind, (except models of useful inventions), during the
months of August, September and October in any year for a
less sum than one thousand dollars.

Shall not issue
licenses for
circus, etc..
during certain
months.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That every company of circus
riders or equestrian performers or exhibitors of any animal,
animals or natural or artificial curiosities, other than models
of usetul inventions, who shall perform or exhibit in said
county during the months of August, September and October
in any year, without first having obtained such license, shall
forfeit the sum of one thousand dollars, to be collected by the
sheriff by distress and sale of the property of such delinquent;
provided that nothing in this Act shall apply to any agricul-
tural fair association duly incorporated under the laws of this
State, nor to any person or persons, association or organized
company to whom said Agricultural Fair Association shall
grant the privilege to perform or exhibit on the grounds of
said Fair Association during any of its annual exhibitions.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted. That this Act shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 337.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact with amendments Section
thirty-one, of Article 43, of the Code of Public General
Laws of Maryland, title "Health," sub-title "Infectious
Diseases — Small-pox," and provide for the free vaccination
of pupils in the public schools of this State.
