LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHAPTER 326.
AN ACT to provide for the acquisition of a lot of land and
the erection thereon by the State of Maryland of a build-
ing, in the City of Annapolis, in which shall be located
the court-room, consultation and other rooms of the Court
of Appeals, the State Library, or portion thereof, the Comp-
troller's office, the Tax Commissioner's office, the Treas-
urer's office, and for such other purposes as may be deemed
proper; and to appropriate a sum of money therefore, and
to provide for the removal of building upon State House
Hill known as the Comptroller's office.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Honorable James McSherry, Isidor Rayner,
Ferdinand C. Latrobe, Lloyd Wilkinson, Austin L. Crothers,
Stevenson A. Williams, George R. Gaither, John Wirt Ran-
dall and Thomas J. C. Williams be and they are hereby
constituted a Building Commission for the purpose of pur-
chasing a suitable lot of land fronting upon either State
House, Church or Governor's Circles, in the City of Annap-
olis, and the erection thereon of a suitable building in which

shall be located, when completed, the court-room, consulta-
tion and other rooms of the Court of Appeals, the State
Library, or portion thereof, the Comptroller's office, the Treas-
urer's office, the Tax Commissioner's office, and for such
other purposes as may be deemed proper.

Ex-officio
members.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the members of the Board
of Public Works shall be ex-officio members of said Building
Commission, and the Governor of the State shall be president
of said Building Commission, and all vacancies in said Com-
mission, whether from death, resignation, refusal to act, or
otherwise, shall be filled by the Board of Public Works.

condemnation.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That as soon as possible after
the passage of this Act said Building Commission shall
organize and elect a secretary to said Commission and proceed
to secure the acquisition, either by purchase or condemna-
tion, of a suitable lot of land in the City of Annapolis, front-
ing on State, Church or Governor's Circles, upon which shall
be erected said building, and as soon as said lot of land is
acquired, and the title duly vested in the State of Maryland,
said Building Commission shall procure plans and specifica-
tions for said building, and as soon as said plans and speci-
fications are determined upon, the said Building Commission
