debtors, where the sum claimed does not exceed one hundred
dollars; and also to all cases of attachment in any of the cases
mentioned in Section thirty-five of Article 9, where the
sum claimed shall not exceed one hundred dollars; provided,
that nothing herein contained shall be held or construed to
effect pending suits or existing judgments.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 303.
AN ACT to regulate the shooting of squirrels in Howard
County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That no person shall shoot or in any manner catch or
kill in Howard County any squirrel between the first day of
October and the first day of May in each and every year fol-
lowing, under a penalty not less than one dollar nor more
than five dollars for each and every squirrel so shot, caught or
killed.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That Section fourteen of Chap-
ter two hundred and six, Acts of General Assembly, passed
at the January Session eighteen hundred and ninety-eight, is
repealed in so far as it applies to Howard County.
SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 304.
AN ACT to extend the privileges, enlarge the powers and
amend the charter of the Union Mills Savings Bank of
Carroll County, Maryland, so as to enable it to loan money
on or purchase promissory and negotiable notes, bills oblig-
atory or other evidence of debt.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Union Mills Savings Bank of Carroll County,
Maryland, be and the same is hereby authorized and empow-
ered to loan money on or where they deem it desirable to
purchase promissory and negotiable notes, bills obligatory or
other evidence of debt.
