license applied for, the said Mayor, Counsellor and Aldermen
shall issue such license; and the license when issued shall
show the class for which it is issued, and any person obtain-
ing a license of the latter class who shall sell distilled liquors
or any mixture thereof containing- more than fifteen per cent,
of alcohol, shall be liable to the same penalties as for selling
without license; provided that any retailer doing business in
said city who shall make application for a license to sell wines
or other liquors in unbroken packages or in quantities not
less than one quart, and in no case to be drunk on the premises,
may be licensed by said Mayor, Counsellor and Aldermen to
do so on complying with the conditions of this sub-title, and
paying therefor the sum of one hundred dollars a year.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage, and all Acts or parts of Acts
inconsistent with the provisions of this Act, be and the same
are hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 32.
AN ACT to add a new section to Article 2, of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Anne Arundel County, sub-title
"Annapolis City" to be numbered Section eighty-six, relat-
ing to the encouragement of manufactures in said city.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That a new section be and it is hereby added to Article
2 of the Code of Public Local Laws, title "Anne Arundel
County," sub-title "Annapolis City," relating to the
encouragement of manufactures in said city, to be numbered
eighty-six, to read as follows:

86. The Mayor, Counsellor and Aldermen of the City of
Annapolis are authorized and empowered, whenever it shall
seem to them expedient for the encouragement of the growth
and development of manufactures and manufacturing indus-
try in said city, upon the application as hereinafter provi-
ded, of any individual firm, or corporation actually engaged
in the business of manufacturing in said city, to abate all
taxes for any year which may hereafter be levied for city
purposes by authority of said Mayor, Counsellor and Alder-
men of the City of Annapolis upon any mechanical tools
or implements, whether worked by hand or steam, or other
motive power, or upon the machinery, manufacturing appa-
