SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That said company be
and is hereby authorized and empowered to take the manage-
ment, custody and charge of real or leasehold property, and
to advance money upon the same on such terms and with all
such powers of sale or other disposition thereof as are now
enjoyed by a natural person, and the said corporation shall
be and is hereby authorized and empowered, either for itself

or as agent to buy, sell, lease, or otherwise acquire, enjoy and
hold real and leasehold property, and to improve the same as
may appear expedient by laying out and grading streets,
alleys and ways, and by the erection thereon of buildings for
dwelling, business or other purposes; to loan money upon,
purchase, sell or issue bonds or mortgages upon the security
of real or leasehold property; to purchase and hold, bargain
and sell, grant, assign and convey land or any interest or
estate therein, and generally to construct, erect, equip and
maintain any and all works of internal improvement, as fully
and completely as a natural person; to loan and to borrow
money for any of the corporate purposes of said corporation,

derived from the sale of its capital stock, and all moneys
received in the course of its business transactions, and to
take, have, hold and enjoy all such estates, real, personal or
mixed, as may be obtained with the aforesaid moneys, and
the same to sell, assign, grant, convey, mortgage, lease or
in anyway dispose of at pleasure, and to execute, acknowl-
edge and deliver all deeds and other instruments of writing
concerning the same.

corporations.

SEC. 7. And be it further enacted, The the said company
be and is hereby authorized and empowered to subscribe for
and hold capital stock in any company or companies, corpo-
ration or corporations, formed for the purpose of laying out
towns or town sites, and to exercise any lawful power for
promotion and development in their mercantile, manufactur-
ing or commercial interests, and for the promotion of immi-
gration thereto; for encouraging the building of towns and
the laying out of town sites, and of streets, alleys and ways
therein; and it shall be lawful for any other company or cor-
poration, chartered or to be chartered, under the laws of this
State, to enter into any agreement with this company which
it shall deem for the common benefit and for the promotion of
the objects, designs and purposes of both.

SEC. 8. And be it further enacted, That the said company
be and is hereby authorized and empowered to loan and
