LAWS OF MARYLAND.

CHAPTER 30.

AN ACT to authorize and empower the Burgess and Com-
missioners of Williamsport, in Washington County, to
redeem each and all of the bonds issued by them under the
provisions of Chapter twenty-seven of the Acts of the
General Assembly of Maryland passed at its January Ses-
sion, A. D. 1898, and to issue new bonds in lieu thereof.

WHEREAS, The Burgess and Commissioners of Williams-
port, in Washington County, in the State of Maryland, under
and by virtue of the power vested in them by Chapter twenty-
seven of the Acts of the General Assembly of Maryland,
passed at its January Session, A. D., 1898, entitled an "Act to
authorize the Burgess and Commissioners of Williamsport,
Washington County, Maryland, to borrow money on the
credit of said town for the purpose of constructing water

works and an electric light, heat and power plant, or either of
them in said town, and to issue bonds for the payment of the
same, and to levy on the assessable property of said town to
redeem said bonds and to pay the interest thereon;" and in
pursuance of the result of an election held as provided for in
the said Act of Assembly, at which election a majority of the
votes were cast for the bond issue, issued electric light bonds
to the amount of six thousand five hundred dollars for the
erection and establishment of an electric light plant in said
town of Williamsport, and sold the same at public sale to the
following persons who still hold them, namely:

1900, for $500, to Cyrus D. Bell; Bond No. 1, Series 2, due
June 8, A. D. 1901, for $500, to John A. Miller; Bond No. 2,
Series 2, due June 8, A. D. 1901, for $500, to Isaac Gruber;
Bond No. 1, Series 3, due June 8, A. D. 1902, for $500, to
Nettie I. Steffey; Bond No. 2, Series 3, due June 8, A. D.
1902, for $500, to Elizabeth A. Steffey; Bond No. 1, Series 4,
due June 8, A. D. 1903, for $500, to Charles L. Downs; Bond
No. 2, Series 4, due June 8, A. D. 1903, for $500, to Annie
M. Troxell; Bond No. 1, Series 5, due June 8, A. D. 1904,
for $500, to Kate S. Schuebley; Bond No. 2, Series 5, due
June 8, A. D. 1904, for $500, to Kate S. Schuebley; Bond
No. 1, Series 6, due June 8, A. D. 1905, for $500, to Kate S.
Schuebley; Bond No. 2, Series 6, due June 8, A. D. 1905, for
$500, to John A. Miller; Bond No. 1, Series 7, due June 8,
A. D. 1906, for $500, to Elizabeth A. Steffey; and
