and connections, including the generation and transmission
of power for the same, and the construction of bridges, reser-
voirs and other structures in, across or near any streams,
lakes or other waters crossed or contiguous to any of said
company's lines or routes; provided, however, that should
said corporation extend its lines into the City of Baltimore,
it shall be subject in all respects to the provisions of Chapter
one hundred and twenty-three of the Acts of the General
Assembly of eighteen hundred and ninety-eight as a condition
precedent thereto, and shall first have and receive the consent
of the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore.

SEC. 5. And be it further enacted, That the said the
Washington and Rockville Railway Company of Montgomery
County, or other purchasing or consolidating company, is
hereby authorized to increase from time to time its capital
stock to an amount not exceeding five million dollars in
shares of one hundred dollars each by a vote of a majority
of its stockholders, atid to issue bonds for such amounts as
may be necessary to accomplish the purposes of this Act,
and to make due conveyance of its corporate franchises and
property for the purpose of securing the said bonds when
thereunder authorized by a majority vote of its stock.

SEC. 6. And be it further enacted, That upon consoli-
dation of the said "The Washington and Rockville Rail-
way Company of Montgomery County," with any of the
corporations herein named, the said consolidated company
shall have all of the rights, powers, franchises and privileges
which each and any of the said railroads or railway com-
panies so consolidated may have theretofore had, and that any
franchises granted unto the said companies so consolidating
with the "Washington and Rockville Railway Company of
Montgomery County" shall be as binding and valid for all
purposes whatsoever as if the same had been originally
granted directly unto the "Washington and Rockville Rail-
way Company of Montgomery County," and expressly con-
firmed and ratified by Act of the Legislature; and for the pur-
pose of such consolidations the power and authority is
hereby expressly given to any and all of the above railway
companies to consolidate or merge with or lease unto the said
"The Washington and Rockville Railway Company of Mont-
gomery County," or to the Columbia Belt Railway Company,
its property, franchises, rights and privileges, upon such con-
ditions and terms as may by a majority of the stockholders of
the companies so consolidating, merging, leasing or selling,
the one unto the other, be determined and stipulated, and in
