SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the said Washington and Rockville Railway Com-
pany of Montgomery County shall be, and it is hereby author-
ized, by a vote of the majority of its stockholders, to change
its name to the Columbia Belt Railway Company of Maryland,
due notice of the stockholders' meeting at which such pro-
posed change will be voted upon having been given in
accordance with the provisions of Article 23 of the Code of
Public General Laws of Maryland.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That any and all rights,
powers, privileges or franchises whatsoever which have been
made or may hereafter be granted or extended to the said
railway company by any county, municipality, or the proper
officers thereof, shall be as effectual and binding upon the said
counties or municipalities so granting the same as if said
grant of powers, rights, privileges or franchises had been
expressly ratified and confirmed by Act or Acts of the General
Assembly of Maryland, subsequent to the granting thereof.

SEC. 3. And be it further enacted, That the said company
shall have the power to acquire by consolidation, merger,
lease, purchase or otherwise, the assets, rights, franchises arid
property of every kind of the Washington, Woodside and
Forest Glen Railway and Power Company of Montgomery
County, Maryland, and of the Columbia and Maryland Railway
Company, and of the West Washington and Great Falls
Electrjc Railway Company of Montgomery County, and of
the Chesapeake Beach Railway Company, and of the Wash-
ington and Glen Echo Railroad Company, or either or any of
them, upon being authorized thereto by a vote of the majority
of its capital stock, and the said several companies, and each
of them, are hereby empowered, when authorized by vote of
the majority of the stock of said companies respectively
actually issued and outstanding at such time or times, to
contract with the said the Washington and Rockville Rail-
way Company of Montgomery County, or with each other,
for such consolidation, merger, lease, purchase or sale, and to
do all such acts or things as shall be necessary or expedient
to consummate the same; and the Washington and Rockville
Railway Company of Montgomery County, or any other rail-
way company, is further empowered, when authorized thereto
