SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That in case a vacancy shall
occur during the term of any of the present Commissioners
by death, removal from the county, resignation or otherwise,
the Governor shall have power to fill the vacancy until the
next general election, when a County Commissioner to fill
said vacancy shall be elected for the term of two years and
until his successor shall be elected and qualified, just as
though said term had expired by limitation; and if a vacancy
shall occur during the term of any Commissioner elected or
appointed under this Act by death, removal from the county,
resignation, or otherwise, the Governor shall have power to
fill such vacancy until the next general election, when the
Commissioner shall be elected for the term of two years, and
until their successors shall be elected and qualified as here-
inbefore provided.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That all laws or parts of laws,
general or local, so far as inconsistent with the provisions of
this Act, be and the same are hereby repealed.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 187.
AN ACT to appropriate a sum of money to meet the defi-
ciency for the printing of the General Assembly of nineteen
hundred.

WHEREAS, Chapter four hundred and nine of the Acts of
eighteen hundred and ninety-eight, appropriated for the
printing- of the General Assembly of nineteen hundred, the
sum of eighteen thousand five hundred dollars, including
advertisements for proposals, awarding contracts, etc.; and,

WHEREAS, The William J. C. Dulany Company was
awarded, as Public Printer, the contract for said work by the
Clerk of the Court of Appeals, under Article 78 of the Code
of Public General Laws, they being the lowest responsible
bidder therefor, at and for the sum of twenty-eight thousand
dollars; hence, leaving a large deficit; therefore,

Governor
shall fill
vacancy.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the sum of eleven thousand dollars, or so much
thereof as may be necessary, be and the same is hereby
appropriated to meet the deficiency for the printing of the
General Assembly of nineteen hundred.
