CHAPTER 152.
AN ACT to authorize the Mayor and City Council of Balti-
more to issue the stock of said corporation to an amount
not exceeding one million three hundred and fifty thousand
dollars for the purpose of providing a Public Lighting
Plant to supply light to said city and to the inhabitants
thereof, and to authorize the submission of an ordinance
for that purpose to the legal voters of said city.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore be and
is hereby authorized to issue its stock to an amount not
exceeding one million three hundred and fifty thousand
dollars, to be issued from time to time, in such amounts, and
payable at such time, and bearing such rate of interest as the
said Mayor and City Council of Baltimore shall by ordinance
prescribe. The proceeds of said issue to be used to provide a
public lighting plant to supply said city and the inhabitants"
thereof with light, but said stock shall not be issued unless
the Mayor and City Council shall by ordinance determine
to erect and equip such public lighting plant, and unless the
ordinance providing for the issue of said stock shall be
approved by a majority of the legal voters of said city, cast
at some time and place to be fixed by said ordinance in a
provision for submitting' the same to the legal voters of said
city, as required by Section seven of Article 11 of the Con-
stitution of this State.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.

AN ACT to provide for an extra levy by the Mayor and
Council of Salisbury, in Wicomico County, for the pur-
pose of refunding taxes erroneously paid on tax levies
for the years eighteen hundred and ninety-seven and
eighteen hundred and ninety -eight, and to pay the indebt-
edness of the Mayor and Council of Salisbury incurred by
reason of the inability to collect the illegal levies of the
said years eighteen hundred and ninety-seven and eighteen
hundred and ninety -eight, and to be designated as Section

Salisbury.
