JOHN WALTER SMITH, ESQ., GOVERNOR.

year 1898, commencing on the first day of May of said year
1898, and to continue for twelve months thereafter, and said
Levi B. Hoff afterwards, to wit., on the tenth day of August,
1898, departed this life, and no use or benefit was had from
said license after the month of September, 1898, and the sum
of seventy-five dollars, less five per centum of said license
money, was by law paid by said clerk of said court to the
said School Commissioners; therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the Board of School Commissioners of Carroll
County be and is hereby authorized to refund and pay to
Mary A. Hoff, widow of the said Levi B. Hoff, deceased, the
sum of forty-three dollars and seventy -five cents, less five per
centum.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, therefore, That this Act shall
take effect from the date of its passage.
Approved March 29, 1900.

CHAPTER 129.
AN ACT to transfer to the Cherry Hill, Elkton and Chesa-
peake City Electric Railway Company of Cecil County
the sum of fifty-eight thousand dollars, which by the Act
of General Assembly of Maryland of eighteen hundred
and ninety-four, Chapter eighty-five, was appropriated
and transferred to the Elkton & Middletown Railroad
Company of Cecil County, and Elkton & Southern Rail-
road Company in certain contingencies.

Mary A. Hoff.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the sum of fifty-eight thousand dollars, or so
much thereof as shall be legally demanded, under the pro-
visions of this Act, which was by the Act of the General
Assembly of eighteen hundred and ninety -four, Chapter
eighty -five, transferred to the Elkton and Middletown Rail-
road Company of Cecil County, and the Elkton & Southern
Railroad Company, in certain contingencies, be and the
same is hereby transferred to the Cherry Hill, Elkton and
Chesapeake City Electric Railway Company of Cecil County,
and as soon as it shall appear to the Governor, by affidavit of
the president of the said Cherry Hill, Elkton and Chesapeake
City Electric Railway Company of Cecil County, that bona
fide subscriptions to the capital stock of said company, equal
to the sum of ten thousand dollars, has been actually made,
