118A. Every insurance company, foreign or domestic, shall
conduct its business in this State in its own proper or corporate
name, and the policies and contracts of insurance issued by it
shall be headed or entitled only by its proper or corporate
name.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

AN ACT making appropriations for the support of the State
Government for the fiscal year ending on the thirtieth day
of September, nineteen hundred and one.

conducted.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That for the expenditures in the support of the State
government for the fiscal year beginning with the first day of
October, nineteen hundred, and ending with the thirtieth day
of September, nineteen hundred and one, the following sums
of money, or so much thereof as may be necessary, be and the
same are hereby appropriated, that is to say:

FOR STATE OFFICERS.
For the salary of the Governor, four thousand five hundred
dollars; for the salary of the Secretary of State, two thou-
sand dollars; for the salary of the Messenger to the Governor,
one thousand dollars; for the salary of the Comptroller of the
Treasury, two thousand five hundred dollars; for the salary of
the Chief Clerk to the Comptroller, eighteen hundred dollars;
for the salary of two Assistant Clerks to the Comptroller, fif-
teen hundred dollars each, three thousand dollars; for the
salary of two Assistant Clerks to the Comptroller, twelve hun-
dred dollars each, twenty-four hundred dollars; for the salary
of the Treasurer of the State, two thousand five hundred dol-
lars; for the salary of the Chief Clerk to the Treasurer, eigh-
teen hundred dollars; for the salary of two Assistant Clerks
to the Treasurer, twelve hundred dollars each, twenty -four
hundred dollars; for the salary of two clerks to the State Tax
Commissioner, twelve hundred dollars each, twenty-four hun-
dred dollars; for the salary of the State Librarian, fifteen hun-
dred dollars; for the salary of the Commissioner of the Land
Office, fifteen hundred dollars; for the salary of one clerk to
the Commissioner of the Land Office, twelve hundred dollars,
