succession; may sue and be sued, answer and defend in any
court of law or equity, and may adopt local laws, rules and
regulations as may appear necessary and proper for conduct-
ing the affairs of said corporation as shall not be contrary to
the constitution and laws, rules and regulations of "The State
Camp of Maryland, Patriotic Orders Sons of America," or as
shall not be contrary to the general laws of the Patriotic
Order Sons of America, or to the laws of the State of Mary-
land or the United States, and the same may change, alter or
amend, as may appear proper, and may have, use and at
pleasure change a common seal, and in general exercise all such
rights, privileges and immunities as by law are incident or
necessary to the corporation herein constituted, and to enable
the members of said Camp to exercise all things concerning
the design of the corporation for the benevolent relief of the
sick and distressed, and for the promotion of their purposes
generally.

government of
the corpora-

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the local laws, rules and
regulations of Washington Camp, Number Thirteen, Patriotic
Order Sons of America of the State of Maryland shall be the
local laws, rules and regulations for the government of the
corporation herein incorporated, until the same shall be regu-
larly repealed or altered by said corporation, or by the action of
the State Camp of Maryland, Patriotic Order Sons of America,
or by the National Camp, Patriotic Order Sons of America, and
that the present officers of Washington Camp, Number Thir-
teen, Patriotic Order Sons of America, of the State of Maryland,
shall be the officers of the said corporation hereby created until
the regular time for the election of officers as prescribed by the
constitution and laws of the "State Camp of Maryland, Patri-
otic Order Sons of America," or by the "National Camp,
Patriotic Order Sons of America," governing the subordinate
camps and their qualifications for office.

Rights and
privileges.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said corporation shall
be capable in law to have, receive and retain to it property,
real, personal and mixed, also devises or bequests of any
person or persons capable of making the same, and the same
at its pleasure to transfer, mortgage or otherwise dispose of;
provided, always, that the said corporation shall not at any
time hold or possess property, not personal or mixed, exceed-
ing in value the sum of five thousand dollars.
SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.
