SECTION 1. Be it enacted bv the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That William H. H. Hopkins, James R. Legg, John O.
Phillips, Thomas P. Vansant, Blane C. Norman, and their
successors in office, are hereby created a body corporate and
politic by the name and style of the Trustees of Trinity
Methodist Protestant Church and church property of Kent
Island, Maryland, and by that name shall have perpetual suc-
cession, and shall be able and capable in law to sue and be
sued, plead and be impleaded, answer and be answered in
every court of Law and Equity, or before any justice of the
peace or judge thereof in this State, or elsewhere, and to
make and have a common seal, and the same to break, alter
or renew at pleasure, and also to do such other acts or things
as may be necessary to carry into effect this corporation, not
inconsistent with the laws of this State or of the United
States.

SEC. 2. And be. it enacted, That the corporation hereby
created shall be able and capable in law to have, hold and
purchase, receive, possess, enjoy and retain to them, and their
successors in office, any estate or interest whatever, and not
to exceed in value twenty thossand dollars in property, real,
personal or mixed, by deed, assignment, devise, bequest or
other mode of conveyance or transfer of, or from every per-
son, bodies public or corporate, having legal capability to
make such transfer or conveyances, and the same to improve
with such church, meeting-house and parsonage, and appurten-
ance thereto attached, for the use of the congregation for pub-
lic or other worship, and for a residence of the pastor of the
congregation, not inconsistent with the discipline of the
Methodist Protestant Church, and to sell, rent, mortgage and
convey all or any part of any property belonging to or that
may hereafter belong to said corporation not inconsistent with
the rules of discipline of the Methodist Protestant Church.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted. That all lands and tenements with
the appurtenances now belonging to or held in the name of
the incorporation herein named for the benefit of said church
and all personal property, fixtures and furniture now held by
them shall from and after the passage of this Act be vested in
said body corporate hereby created and their successors for-
ever for the use and benefit of the congregation, according to
the rules and regulations of the discipline of the Methodist
Protestant church, and the deeds and other conveyances made
to the trustees hereby incorporated, or any of their predeces-
sors shall be for the benefit of the congregation of Trinity Meth-
