licensed to take oysters, as aforesaid, with scoop, scrape or
dredge in said waters for the dredging season ending March
15, 1900, be and they are hereby authorized and directed upon
a certificate of the admeasurer hereinafter referred to and pro-
vided for, and upon full compliance with the provisions for
the issuing of license hereinafter referred to, to issue a license
for the use of said boat in taking oysters in the waters afore-
said in the manner aforesaid; but no license shall be issued to
any boats so licensed for said dredging season ending on March
15, 1900, the tonnage of which is greater than ten and fifty-two

ment to be ascertained by said admeasurers; and if either of
the clerks authorized by this Act to issue such licenses shall
issue the same without the said admeasurers certificate; when
such certificate is necessary or contrary to the provisions of
this Act, he shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and
upon conviction thereof before a justice of the peace, or either
of said courts having jurisdiction thereof, shall be fined not
less than one hundred dollars for each and every offense, and
stand committed until such fine and costs are paid.

245 and 156. The managing owner of such boats shall make
oath or affirmation before the clerk that he is a bona fide
managing owner of such boats described in the license; that
he has been a resident of said county for the time before
named; that the boat is owned wholly by residents of said
county; that there is no lien, interest or claim on said boats
held by non-residents of Dorchester or Talbot County,
respectively, as the case may be; that the said boat is not held
with intention to violate any of the provisions of the sub-title

in part by residents of such county the six preceding months,
if it is six months old; and the said master of said boat shall
also make oath before said clerk that he has been a resident of
said county for twelve months next preceding the time of
taking said oath, and that he will comply with all laws,
general or local, regulating the catching of oysters, and that
the time of taking such oath he shall exhibit to the clerk the
custom house license if five tons gross or over, and also the
certificate of the measurers of all boats whose gross tonnage,
by the rules of custom house measurement, are as shown by
said custom house license to be in excess of six tons gross
measurement; and such licensee shall carry such license at all
times when working in his occupation and produce the same
when it shall be demanded by any duly authorized officer.
