Draining
lands.
Dorchester co.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That the following section to follow after section forty-
nine, and to be numbered 49 A, be and it is hereby added to
Article 25 of the Code of Public General Laws, title "County
Commissioners," sub-title "Draining Lands," making certain
additional provisions as lo Dorchester County.

4gA And the tax so levied in Dorchester County shall be
due and collectable the same year in which said statement
shall have been approved by the County Commissioners of
said county, and the ditch treasurer shall settle with the
taxables at their annual meeting in March, and also make
report to said County Commissioners of all sums received and
expended by him, and shall be entitled to receive three per

cent, of the receipts as compensation for his services. All '
moneys levied in Dorchester County for the purpose of cutting,
making and opening or for cleaning out such ditch or ditches,
or for the payment of damages and expenses shall be collected
by the tax collector of the district or districts in which such
ditch is situated, and the said County Commissioners shall
pay to the ditch treasurer upon warrant of managers the
money so collected. The tax collector shall receive the same
percent, for collecting such ditch tax as he is paid for collect-
ing other county taxes, and in case of refusal or neglect of
any person bound to pay the same, he shall proceed to collect
and recover the ditch tax in the same manner that county
taxes are receivable by law. And sections 46, 47 and 75 of
this Article are hereby repealed in so far as they apply to
Dorchester County.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 636.

AN ACT to add an additional Section to Article 11, of the
Code of Public Local Laws, title "Frederick County," sub-
title "Bridges," said additional Section to follow Section
sixty-one of said Article, and to be designated as Section
61A.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That an additional section be and the same is hereby
added to Article n, of the Code of Public Local Laws, title
