The Journal of Monday was read and approved.
PETITIONS, MEMORIALS AND OTHER PAPERS.
Mr. Moses, (by request,) presented a memorial from the
Patriotic Society of Maryland to the General Assembly
of Maryland.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on
Federal Relations.
Mr. Kirwan presented a petition from John O. Phil-
lips, Jerome S. Jones and 547 other citizens of Queen
Anne's county, asking for an amendment to the Local
Option Laws of said county.
Which was read and referred to the Committee on
Temperance.
Mr. Rohrback presented a petition from Rev. Isaac M.
Motter and one hundred and ninety-eight other citizens
of Frederick county, asking for the passage of an Act
empowering the County Commissioners of Frede rick
county, Maryland, to provide for scholarships to stude nts
of Frederick county in the Buckeystown Normal School,
in said county
