882 JOURNAL OF PROCEEDINGS [Mar. 22 Mr. Moses, from Select Committee, reported favor- ably, Senate bill entitled "An Act to provide an additional revenue for the special fund of the Board of Police Com- missioners of the city of Baltimore, to be derived from the granting or issuing permits to give public dances, soirees, masked halls, boxing or athletic contests, or either of them, in the city of Baltimore." Which was read the second time and ordered to be en- grossed for a third reading. Mr. Kirwan, from Select Committee, reported favor- ably, Senate bill entitled "An Act to prohibit horse racing on the public roads of Queen Anne's county." Which was read the second time and ordered to be en- grossed for a third reading. Mr. Rohrback, from Select Committee, reported favor- ably, Senate bill entitled "An Act to provide for the pay- ment of the salary of the keeper of the Law Library of. the Circuit Court of Frederick county." Which was read the second time and ordered to be en- grossed for a, third reading. SECOND ORDER OF THE DAY. The hour of 1 P. M. having arrived, The Senate considered the Second Order of the Day, being, House bill entitled "An Act to amend the charter of the Sosquehanna Power and Paper Company of Harford county, a corporation organized under the Public Gen- eral Laws of the State of Maryland, to enlarge its pow- ers and to chnnge the corporate name thereof by omit- ting therefrom the words ‘of Harford county.' AMENDMENTS PROPOSED. By Mr. Williams, of Harford, Strike out all of section 3 after the word "of” on page 5, in line 3, and insert in lieu thereof the following words; "at least four feet above the crest of the present main dam of the said Susquehanna Power nnd Paper |
